Great Falls Clinic Hospital Achieves AAHHS Accreditation

aahhs-acred-transThe Great Falls Clinic Hospital has achieved accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Hospitals and Health Systems (AAHHS). Accreditation distinguishes the Great Falls Clinic Hospital from many other facilities by proving they provide the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.

Status as an accredited organization means the Great Falls Clinic Hospital has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by AAHHS. Not all hospital organizations seek accreditation; not all that undergo the rigorous on-site survey process are granted accreditation.

“We believe our patients deserve the best,” stated Vicki Newmiller, Chief Executive Officer of the Great Falls Clinic. “When you see our certificate of accreditation, you will know that AAHHS, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has closely examined our facility and procedures. It means we as an organization care enough about our patients to strive for the highest level of care possible.”

Hospitals and Health Systems seeking accreditation by AAHHS undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by AAHHS expert surveyors – physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and administration who are actively involved in the medical field. The survey is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.

“Going through the process challenged us to find better ways to serve our patients, and it is a constant reminder that our responsibility is to strive to continuously improve the quality of care we provide,” said Rachel Pahut, Director of Nursing at the Great Falls Clinic Hospital.

The Great Falls Clinic was founded in 1917 when four visionary medical leaders opened a world-class comprehensive health care center, with an integrated team of specialists and a personal approach to wellness—far from an urban center. Today, the Clinic is Montana’s largest independent group of physicians, providing the greater Great Falls area with a vast range of health services: diverse specialty medical clinics, a warm and caring hospital, urgent care clinics, family practice, vision services, and a surgical center.

As a provider-led organization, the Clinic is committed to recruiting the most contemporary medical staff, harnessing the power of the latest medical technologies, continually striving for advancement, and above all, working as a team to meet the health needs of the 225,000 residents living in our 17 local counties.

The Great Falls Clinic is committed to improving the health and wellness of our community by providing the best healthcare possible. To schedule an appointment with a primary care provider or specialist, please call 406.454.2171 or visit our website at www.gfclinic.com.

The Accreditation Association for Hospitals and Health Systems (AAHHS), was created in 2012 by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) to focus on the accreditation needs of U.S. hospitals. AAHHS and AAAHC have separate governing boards and function independently as operating entities of an umbrella organization, the Accreditation Association. Both organizations are dedicated to ensuring high quality patient care in health care settings. Learn more at www.aahhs.org
