Cardiac cath lab coming to Great Falls Clinic in 2018

Jorge Castriz, MD

March 16, 2018 – Dr. Jorge Castriz and Dr. Michael Ritchie, both interventional cardiologists at the Great Falls Clinic, are excited to announce Great Falls Clinic will bring a cardiac catheterization lab to the Hospital in 2018.

“The opening of our own cath lab has been a goal for our cardiology team and the Clinic for some time,” stated Dr. Jorge Castriz, Interventional Cardiologist at the Great Falls Clinic. “We want patients to have a choice when it comes to their cardiology needs and opening a cath lab will allow us to provide comprehensive cardiology services right here at the Great Falls Clinic.”

The cath lab will provide the ability to perform diagnostic cardiac catheterizations to diagnosis and treat heart disease. Diagnostic procedures performed will include stress tests, cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker placements and defibrillator placements.

The Clinic’s goal is to have a mobile cath lab available by July of 2018 until the Clinic can complete construction within the facility for permanent cath lab within the Hospital. “The cath lab is a vital addition to the Clinic’s Hospital. The cath lab will allow our patients to receive the cardiology care they need within our organization,” stated Vicki Newmiller, CEO of the Great Falls Clinic.

Great Falls Clinic has already started the process of recruiting for the additional staff needed for the cath lab. “Working together, the Great Falls Clinic professional team will provide cardiology services to the Great Falls community and surrounding areas that will further integrate the care for the patients that come to the Clinic for their health care needs,” stated Newmiller.

More information will be released once the service is in place and fully available.
