News Patient and Family Advisory Council

Enhancing the patient experience is about focusing on healthcare through the eyes of others.  We request your partnership and invite you to join our new Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC). The rewards of participating on the PFAC will be many, from meeting new friends to hearing the voice of others, and making an impact on the care of the Great Falls Clinic patients.   It’s your opportunity to make a difference and to celebrate a healthy life.

Mission:  The Patient and Family Advisory Council for the Great Falls Clinic ensures that patients and families have a voice in their health care.  We will accomplish this by strengthening communication to:

  • Create a partnership with patients, family members and the healthcare team to provide excellence in prevention, treatment and health education.
  • Promote integration of care and services into the family practice setting.
What Does Being on the Advisory Council Mean?

The PFAC will be compromised of patients and family members and Great Falls Clinic staff.  Together we can promote respectful, effective partnership between patients and families and professionals.

We are looking for patients and family members willing to make a commitment to:
  • Meet quarterly with the Great Falls Clinic leadership, providers and staff.
  • Work as a team.
  • Share experiences
  • Provide honest feedback
  • Respect the perspective of others.
  • Meet with other patients and families.
  • Work to enhance the patient and family experience.
  • Focus on patient centered care.
What will be the Time Commitment?
  • Participation in quarterly meetings (approx. 2 hrs. each month)
  • An opportunity to engage in additional work outside the meetings for program development and to meet with patients and families about their experiences.
What are the goals of the Patient and Family Advisory Council?
  • Improve the flow of information and sharing of knowledge between patients, families and the healthcare team.
  • Identify and address patient and family needs in all aspects throughout their healthcare journey.
  • Enhance ongoing collaboration and cooperation among clinicians, patients and families for the benefit of the patient’s healthcare team (e.g., primary care, consults and specialists).
  • Assure the best possible medical and emotional outcome for the patient and their family members.
  • Empower patients, families and staff through continuous education.
