News Welcome Kevin McCafferty, MD, Emergency Medicine!


Kevin McCafferty, MD

The Great Falls Clinic is pleased to welcome Kevin McCafferty, MD, to our new Emergency Department team. Dr. McCafferty has over 31 years of emergency medicine experience and is excited to continue helping patients in the Great Falls community.

Dr. McCafferty received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1981.  He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at the Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, California in 1985. After finishing his residency, he made the move to Great Falls, Montana where he began practicing at the Deaconess Hospital in 1985. In his spare time, Dr. McCafferty enjoys fly fishing, camping, hiking and playing the ukulele. Dr. McCafferty is excited to continue offering his knowledge and support in emergency medicine to the Great Falls Clinic and to the community.

The Great Falls Clinic Hospital began providing emergency services in January, 2016, in effort to provide increased access to patients. Dr. McCafferty was recruited shortly after staffing and provider needs were established for the department. Along with Dr. McCafferty, the Great Falls Clinic Hospital began recruiting highly qualified providers and staff including Drs. Sharla Hart and Todd Harper. Vicki Newmiller, CEO added, “As we begin our transition to the replacement hospital, we are thrilled to have such an experienced providers developing this necessary service line. We are confident in their ability to ensure that we offer the type of emergency services that our patients have been requesting.”
