Janell Smith, RD, PhD, Joins the Great Falls Clinic Nutrition Services Department

The Great Falls Clinic is pleased to welcome Janell Smith to our Nutrition Services team. Janell is a highly knowledgeable registered dietitian with experience in the application of nutritional knowledge in medical setting as well as outpatient and community nutrition education.

Janell earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Home Economics Education from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee. She completed her Post-Master’s Supervised Dietetic Clinical Experience at the University of Miami Medical School. In 2007. Janell completed her Doctorate in Dietetics and Nutrition at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.

She brings a diverse background and has managed research projects, managed WIC nutrition programs, provided nutrition education in medical and private industry setting, as well as taught undergraduate courses. Before joining the Great Falls Clinic, she worked at long-term facilities in Butte and Whitefish, Montana, and Select Hospitals in Florida.

She grew up in a farming family, therefore, in her spare time enjoys making jams and jellies, quilting, gardening, and spending time with family. She is very excited about spending more time in the State of Montana.

Janell Smith will begin seeing patients at the Great Falls Clinic Main, 1400 29th St S in Great Falls in March 2024.
