Kristopher Poliakiwski, MD, Joins the Great Falls Clinic Psychiatry Department

The Great Falls Clinic is pleased to welcome Dr. Kristopher Poliakiwski, a local adult psychiatrist, to the team. With the addition of Dr. Poliakiwski, the Great Falls Clinic now offers adult psychiatry services within the newly formed Psychiatry Department. Dr. Poliakiwski is an experienced psychiatrist who has practiced since 2018.

Dr. Poliakiwski specializes in severe, chronic and treatment-resistant mental illness, with a greater interest in treating despondency and suicidal ideation. Within three to twelve months of treatment, even his most severe patients have experienced significant improvements. “I strive to help my patients achieve their goals throughout their treatment to become more functional and have a better life,” stated Dr. Poliakiwski. “We figure out how to help them feel safe, secure and more empowered in the short and long term.”

In 2008, Dr. Poliakiwski completed his Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Calgary in Red Deer, Alberta. Dr. Poliakiwski graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the Medical University of the Americas in 2011. Dr. Poliakiwski earned his Doctor of Medicine from Medical University of the Americas in 2016.

After graduating with his medical degree, Dr. Poliakiwski completed his family medicine at the University of North Dakota in Bismark, North Dakota. Then, he completed his psychiatry residency at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. Before joining the Great Falls Clinic team, Dr. Poliakiwski was a general psychiatrist for a local healthcare facility in Great Falls, Montana.

He enjoys spending as much time as he can with his family and community, as well as skiing, hiking, biking and power sports.
